After a very productive 3 years and 3 CDs, Malcolm and his current record label, Echo Mountain Records, have decided to part ways. Malcolm is currently working on material for a new release in 2011. More details coming soon!

Malcolm Holcombe's new CD For the Mission Baby will be released in the U.S. on September 29, 2009, and in the UK/Europe on October 5, 2009.

The CD was recorded in May '09, produced, recorded and mixed by Ray Kennedy at Room and Board Studios in Nashville, TN.

Malcolm will be going into the studio to start recording his new CD to be entitled "Gambling House" on July 26 into August, at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC. The CD will be released on the Echo Mountain label and be produced by Ray Kennedy.


Not Forgotten will be officially released in Europe on the wonderful Munich Records label on Friday September 14.

The Song of America CD compilation will be released on Tuesday September 18 on Sony Records.
This is a music compilation produced by Ed Petterson, David Macias and Bob Olhsson that Janet Reno inspired 9 years ago... the resulting compilation spans 1472-2001 with new recordings from 50 different artists. The press release can be found at http://www.msopr.com/?q=node/3160 and you'll find all sorts of pre-release speculation out at various music websites. The compilation will be released commercially on Sept 18th and profits will be donated to non-profits such as National History Day and the Folk Alliance to further efforts to join music and history education. Malcolm is very pleased to be a part of this monumental project !

On May 1, Malcolm signed with Echo Mountain Records. Recording of his next CD release is set to commence in June 2007 at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC. Grammy Award winner Ray Kennedy(Delbert McClinton, Steve Earle) is slated to produce.


The Dappled Grays have a new CD called "Doin' My Job" released in January, 2007. Three of Malcolm's songs were recorded for the album: "Gone By the Ol' Sunrise," "Only For You" and "Doin' His Job." To hear samples or to order, go to dappledgraysmusic.com

On February 27 in Nashville, TN, Malcolm will be recording the song "The Old Woman Taught Wisdom" for the upcoming Sony/Emergent release "Song Of America". Sponsored by National History Day, produced by Ed Pettersen and David Macias, the project is the history of the U.S. in song from 1620 to the present. It will be distributed in public schools across the country, as well as retail sale, with all profits going to music education. The CD's are slated for release in September 2007, along with a concert and documentary on PBS.


Malcolm started working on a new CD in December to be entitled "Not Forgotten". He is continuing work on the new CD in the month of January at Collapseable Studios in Asheville, NC. More details coming soon...

"I Never Heard You Knockin' " is a top ten americana CD and single ("For the Love of a Good Woman") in Belgium.

Malcolm will be a guest performer on Jonah Smith's upcoming CD for Relix Records. He'll be recording his vocal and guitar tracks on May 20 and 21 in NYC.

Malcolm was in the studio on April 21 to record some backing vocal for the upcoming Tandy CD.

March of 2005 will see the release of Malcolm's latest CD, "I Never Heard You Knockin'", an all acoustic venture. Self produced, the CD was engineered by Aaron Price at Collapseable Studios in Asheville, NC; mixed and mastered by Ray Kennedy at Zen Masters in Nashville, TN.

This is the CD that has been long-awaited by Malcolm's fans, friends, and supporters. The album, entitled "I Never Heard You Knockin," is slated for release March 29, 2005.

Florida folk duo Tammerlin has recorded Malcolm's song "A Far Cry From Here", on their latest CD "One Kind Favor".

Malcolm is a featured artist on the Koch International Records CD "Return To Cold Mountain", released on Tuesday May 25, 2004 and available to order through Amazon.com. Produced by Grammy winning producer Bil VornDick, and inspired by the movie and best-selling book, the CD is a magnificent collection of music recorded by artists native to the Cold Mountain region.

Malcolm was a featured performer on the SpotlightOn TV series which aired on March 3rd.
